The Practice

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a gentle yet powerful energy healing technique developed in Japan in the early twentieth century. The word combines two Japanese concepts: Rei (universal wisdom) and Ki (life energy). Together, Reiki refers to universal life energy — the animating force practitioners believe flows through all living things.

In a Reiki session, the practitioner acts as a channel for this energy, placing their hands gently over key points on or near the body. The session is guided with the intention of supporting balance, relaxation, and energetic ease. Sessions are deeply quiet, deeply still, and deeply personal.

Reiki does not require belief to be experienced — only an open and willing presence.

25 Years of Healing Experience

Our founder is a certified Reiki Master who has been practicing energy healing for over 25 years. During that time, he has worked with clients across the United States, India, and internationally — people navigating stress, grief, physical discomfort, emotional heaviness, and the search for deeper calm.

His approach to Reiki is grounded, unhurried, and deeply attentive. He does not rush sessions or follow a rigid protocol. He responds to the person in front of him. Each session is different because each person arrives in a different place.

Why People Come

What People Explore Reiki For

Not as treatment claims — but as the honest intentions people bring to us.

Stress & Emotional Heaviness

Many people carry accumulated stress in their body without a clear outlet. Reiki sessions often create a profound sense of release — not through talk, but through stillness.

Sleep & Rest Support

People exploring Reiki for sleep often report a deepening of physical relaxation during sessions, and a quieter mind in the hours that follow.

Grief & Emotional Processing

Grief sits in the body. Many clients navigating loss find Reiki offers a type of held stillness that is hard to find elsewhere.

Chronic Discomfort & Fatigue

Some clients explore Reiki as a complement to their existing medical care. Reiki does not treat or cure — but a deeply relaxed body may support its own natural processes.

Spiritual Awareness

Some people come simply because they are curious about energy and the inner life. Reiki is non-religious and requires no framework — only an open door.

A Complement to Medical Care

Reiki works alongside, not instead of, conventional healthcare. We always encourage clients to continue working with their medical team.

Reiki is a supportive wellness practice. It is not a medical treatment and does not diagnose, cure, or prevent any health condition. Please consult your healthcare provider for medical concerns. Reiki complements but does not replace professional medical or mental health care.

A Session at RaagVeda

"No touch. No pressure.
Just healing energy flowing
with intention."

You lie fully clothed on a comfortable surface. The practitioner's hands rest gently above key areas of the body — without applying pressure or touch. You may feel warmth, a sense of tingling, a deep heaviness of relaxation, or simply a quieting of thought. Some people drift into a light sleep. All responses are natural. Sessions typically last 45–60 minutes.
